DETROIT – We could have record-breaking weather Friday in Metro Detroit as dangerously cold temperatures invade. Temperatures Friday morning are in the single digits, and some areas in Washtenaw and Lenawee counties have fallen below zero.
In Detroit, rain is expected to start Thursday night and continue into the weekend, mixing with snow starting Sunday, Nov. 9. Snow showers also are forecast for Monday, Nov. 10, according to the National Weather Service seven-day forecast.
Frigid temperatures are expected across southeast Michigan through the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service. NWS also warns that wind chills could fall to zero degrees between Wednesday night and Friday morning. Meteorologists with the agency also predict snow showers on Wednesday and over the weekend.
Detroit faces a chilly week with potential light snow and slick roads, with partly sunny skies today and a high of 27, leading to a cloudy weekend and possible snow accumulation on Sunday.
